Kane Kwei
The bases of the Kane Kwei tables are made in Ghana at the Kane Kwei Carpentry Shop, where the tradition of fantastical designer coffins began. The patterns on these tables are inspired by the motifs used in this work, with the form being adapted for a broader (and living) audience to enjoy.
The coffins have been part of Ga culture for several decades and represent something significant from the deceased person’s life. For example, a fisherman might be buried in a coffin shaped like a fish.

Note: Because of the conditions where the bases are made, expect perfect imperfections. The cracks and paint ‘bruises’ do not affect the integrity of the table.
